Fresh ideas and fresh location offer a recipe for success. Fresh Brothers pizza is new to Brentwood—and here to stay, according to its owners.
Open since August 24, 2012, Fresh Brothers is a new pizza place located at 11740 San Vicente Blvd in Brentwood. It’s a relatively new restaurant chain that has only been in business since June 2008.
Restaurant owner Adam Goldberg said, “We want to tie in the family element. Pizza is really a family food, a community food, so somehow tying it back into the family, is what it’s all about.â€
Pizza has been in the Goldberg family business since 1985 — started by the oldest brother, Scott. Scott Goldberg trained at one of the best pizza places in Chicago, and at the age of 19, opened his first pizza place. Middle brother and co-owner Michael runs operations. Goldberg’s wife, Debbie, is also involved.
“We want to tie in the freshness of the product, and the family element, so that’s how we got Fresh Brothers,†said Goldberg.
The Fresh Brothers concept comes from the freshness of produce and products. Staffers make their own dough and sauce daily, using the same sauce that Scott created in Chicago. A California twist on hearty Chicago pizza allows Fresh Brothers to showcase a variety of favorites and specialties.
“Our ‘Fresh Mama’s Favorite’ is definitely one of our specialties,†raved Goldberg, “mainly because it was my mom’s favorite pizza. It’s fresh with spinach, mushrooms, a little pesto and garlic mixed into our pizza sauce.â€
Other specialties include the baked wings, ‘Farmer’s Market Salad’, deep-dish pizza ‘Da Works’, and new addition ‘Fresh Knots’. Fresh Brothers also offers vegan options as well as a gluten-free menu.
The ‘Fresh Kids Special,’ exclusive to Fresh Brothers, includes a unique sauce blended with a variety of veggies kids won’t recognize. This pizza has become a favorite among parents, hoping to improve the nutrition of their picky-eaters.
The ‘Fresh Kids Special’ is featured in personal-sized pizzas in several Los Angeles lunch programs. Goldberg elaborated: “We do about 4,000 pizzas a week for school lunch programs. We make them in the morning, we cook ‘em, and they serve it hot in a box!â€
The restaurant participates in a variety of charity events, and provides gift cards, auction items, and of course pizza. “We accept every request that comes to us. It’s for the community,†said Goldberg.
New to Brentwood, but not new to pizza—Fresh Brothers looks like it’s here to stay.
