The League of Women Voters of Los Angeles (LWVLA) paired with Archer School for Girls to teach voter registration protocol. The campaign gives young women the tools to engage in the political process and hopefully inspires them to remain active. Volunteers from the LWV came to the campus to train girls 16-18 years old to register voters.
The Archer School for Girls “No Vote, Big Voice†campaign was established to empower young women to enter the political process and encourage them to get involved and make their voices heard.
“Our new campaign initiates girls with a sense of civic responsibility, preparing them to engage in mature political discourse and active citizenship,†said Elizabeth English, Head of School at Archer.
Archer girls registered voters in Brentwood Village before the October 22 registration deadline in a non-partisan campaign. Girls were also encouraged to pledge to call ten women in their lives to encourage them to get out and vote November 6. Each of those women is encouraged to call ten more women to do the same. Thus, the girls learn the importance of democracy in action.
