Police Tuesday released a sketch of a man who raped a victim after she got into a vehicle in Hollywood thinking it was a ride-sharing car she had ordered.
The victim left a club and got into the suspect’s late-model four-door car on Jan. 7, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
“The suspect drove the victim to a secluded location, where he sexually assaulted her,” according to a police statement. “During the time the suspect kept the victim captive, he told her personal information about himself.”
The man said he either lived or worked in the Long Beach area, claimed to own an accounting business and told the victim he works with his brother, police said.
“The suspect also claimed to have another brother in law enforcement,” according to the LAPD.
The suspect is described as a dark-haired, 25- to 30-year-old Middle Eastern man who is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds.
Anyone with information that could help identify the suspect was urged to call police investigators at (213) 473-0447.
After-hours and weekend calls should be directed to (877) LAPD-24-7. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers by calling (800) 222- TIPS.
