A Caltrans worker doing landscape work escaped major injury Wednesday when a woman lost control of her car on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway, authorities said.
The collision happened about 8:55 a.m. near Edwards Street, according to California Highway Patrol Sgt. Janelle Bautista.
A group of Caltrans workers were doing landscaping work on the shoulder when the motorist lost control of her car, which crashed into the rear of a Caltrans truck, Bautista said. The car then struck another Caltrans truck before hitting the worker, she said.
The driver and the Caltrans worker were taken to area hospitals to be treated for minor injuries, Bautista said. Their names were not released.
The two right lanes of the freeway were closed for the investigation.
