The coroner’s office today released the name of a man shot to death in the Pico-Union section of Los Angeles.
He was 24-year-old Dalby Perez, according to the coroner’s office website. An autopsy was pending.
The shooting occurred at 10:25 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Bonnie Brae Street. People drove by in a car and fired two to three rounds at the victim now identified as Perez, said Lt. Michael Mabie of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Rampart Division.
The victim was struck several times in the upper body, Mabie said. He was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds. The shooting is under investigation.
