Northbound 405 Near Westwood Suffers Small Car Fire

WESTWOOD (CNS) – A vehicle fire prompted closure of the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway in Westwood for a time today, snarling traffic during the morning commute.

Firefighters sent to the freeway at Sunset Boulevard about 6 a.m. quickly extinguished the flames, and one northbound lane was reopened a short time later.

However, other lanes remained blocked for about an hour while crews worked to clear the scene.

No injuries were reported.
