Police were on the lookout Wednesday for a man who allegedly filled his backpack with liquor and left a Trader Joe’s market in Cheviot Hills without paying for it, threatening one employee with a knife.
The robbery occurred in the 10700 block of National Boulevard, near Westwood Boulevard, at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
The suspect loaded the backpack and left without paying, and when store employees confronted him, he threatened them with a knife, police said.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic man with black hair in a ponytail, a beard, mustache, about 6 feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing a dark sweater, dark shorts, and gray and black tennis shoes.
