Oregon football players who participated in a mocking chant after the Rose Bowl Game about Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston in connection with a sexual assault investigation were facing punishment today.
Linebacker Torrodney Prevot, running back Kani Benoit and a third player wearing a “Won Not Done” T-shirt over his jersey can be seen on a video posted by Bear Heiser of Fox Sports West on the Vine video sharing service chanting “no means no,” to the tune of the Seminoles’ “Warchant” and doing the “tomahawk chop” arm gesture.
“We are aware of the inappropriate behavior in the post-game,” Ducks coach Mark Helfrich said in a statement released by the university’s athletic department. “This is not what our program stands for and the student athletes will be disciplined internally.”
The State Attorney’s Office of Florida’s Second Judicial Circuit conducted an investigation in 2013 into a sexual assault allegation involving Winston, but no charges were filed.
