Homeless shelters are now full, but anyone needing a bed will not be turned away with chilly weather expected through New Year’s Day, homeless services officials said today.
The 1,521 beds at shelters around the county have filled up, but shelter operators are planning to set up extra beds, Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority spokesman George McQuade said.
The countywide homeless population is about 35,500.
