A woman was hospitalized after being rescued Sunday from rough surf off Pacific Palisades, authorities said.
County lifeguards pulled the woman from the water off the 16300 block of Pacific Coast Highway near Tahiti Avenue at around 5:30 p.m. and city firefighters took her to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Westwood, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Lifeguards started CPR and used an automatic defibrillator to restore her heartbeat and city fire paramedics arrived and took her to the hospital, Humphrey said.
He did not know her condition, but said rescuers’ efforts gave her “a fighting chance at survival.”
