So far this Labor Day weekend, 169 drivers have been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs on Los Angeles County freeways and roads patrolled by the California Highway Patrol, according to figures released Sunday.
No fatalities were reported for the 36-hour period ended 6 a.m. today.
In 2013, one person was killed and 203 were arrested on suspicion of DUI, according to the CHP.
Statewide, 18 people have been killed in CHP jurisdictions, compared to 11 in 2013.
The statewide DUI arrest total so far this weekend is 767, compared to 832 in 2013, according to the CHP.
