Los Angeles Dodgers all-star outfielder Yasiel Puig and shortstop Hanley Ramirez will pose for pictures with fans during the Viva Los Dodgers festival at the 76 station in Dodger Stadium’s parking lot before today’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Ramirez will pose from 11-11:30 a.m. and Puig from 11:30 a.m.-noon. Fans are advised to arrive early for the opportunity to have pictures taken with Ramirez and Puig.
Viva Los Dodgers will also include Dodger scout Mike Brito, who signed Fernando Valenzuela, signing autographs from noon to 1 p.m., an appearance by Dodger broadcaster Manny Mota and musical performances by Charanga Cubana and Alfredo Rodriguez.
The Dodgers’ commemoration of Cuban Heritage Day today will include selling a special extreme loaded dog, the Cuban Dog, at extreme loaded dog concession stands on the field, loge and reserve levels and Viva Los Dodgers.
The Cuban Dog is an all-beef hot dog served with shredded pork, smoked ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and yellow mustard.
Jessica Alba will throw the ceremonial first pitch and Tony Plana will throw the first pitch. Alba’s next film, “Sin City” A Dame to Kill For,” will be released Friday. Plana is best known for playing the father of Betty (America Ferrera) on the 2006-10 ABC series “Ugly Betty.”
The Dodgers will also conduct Faith and Family Day today, with Clayton Kershaw, Adrian Gonzalez, A.J. Ellis and Scott Van Slyke sharing their personal testimonies on faith following the game.
Gospel singer Anthony Evans and Christian rock artist Dom Liberati will perform after the game.
A portion of the proceeds of discounted tickets purchased online will benefit Not for Sale, an organization that fights against human trafficking.
Tommy Davis, the 1962 and 1963 National League batting champion, will sign autographs in the right field pavilion plaza from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., the same time as Al “The Bull” Ferrara, an outfielder with the Dodgers in 1963 and 1965-68, will be signing autographs in the left field pavilion plaza. Davis and Ferrara will also be signing autographs in the Stadium Club from 1-1:30 p.m.
Fernando Rivero of the U.S. Navy Reserve will be honored as the Veteran of the Game. Rivero serves with the Joint Public Affairs Support Element. His responsibilities include coordinating and escorting news media aboard ships, ashore and in hazardous combat environments.
Rivero is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom. His accolades include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, NATO Medal and Afghanistan Campaign Medal.
All auto gates will open at 10:30 a.m. and all stadium gates at 11 a.m. for the 1:10 p.m. game.
