Streak of Dropping L.A. County Gas Prices Ends at 26 Days

The 26-day streak of declining gas prices in Los Angeles County is over.

The average gas price in L.A. County was unchanged on May 26 at $4.153, and that ended a 26-day streak of decreases.

The average gas price today in Orange County was $4.14, and that was up two-tenths of a cent from Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average L.A. gas price had dropped 17.2 cents during the 26-day streak, which began immediately after an eight-day streak of increases. Today’s average gas price is 3 cents less than one week ago and 16.2 cents lower than one month ago, but 9.4 cents more than one year ago.

The Memorial Day record gas price in L.A. County is $4.299, set in 2012.

The Orange County average gas  price today was 2.8 cents less than one week ago and 17 cents lower than one month ago, but 11.2 cents more than one year ago.

The Orange County Memorial Day record gas price is $4.266, also set in 2012.
