Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center today unveiled a four-story, 113,000-square-foot addition that includes a meditation room, pharmacy, laboratory space, and state-of-the-art technology.
The addition is set to open to the public June 3.
The medical center is Kaiser’s largest facility, according to Catherine Gaughen, the medical center’s director of public affairs.
“It will expand our existing medical center, which is seven stories that opened in 2009, to (now) provide 913,000 square feet,” Gaughen said.
The medical center — located along Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood — currently serves 3.2 million Kaiser Permanente members.
The center offers complex neurosurgery, pediatrics, comprehensive cancer care, and one of the largest cardiac surgery programs in the western United States.
It employs 787 physicians and, with the expansion, has 560 beds, Gaughen said.
“We’re very excited for our members,” Gaughen said.
