U.S. Air Force Capt. Ruben Carrillo of Rowland Heights will be honored as the Veteran of the Game tonight when the Los Angeles Dodgers face the Miami Marlins in the second game of their three-game series at Dodger Stadium.
Carrillo enlisted in 1996 and was commissioned as an officer in 2008. He serves with the Air National Guard’s 216th Space Control Squadron.
Carrillo’s accolades include the Air Force Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster and the Air Force Achievement Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters.
Mickey Hatcher, a member of the Dodgers 1988 World Series championship team, will sign autographs in the right field pavilion plaza from 5-7:10 p.m., the same time Derrel Thomas, a member of their 1981 World Series championship team, will be signing autographs in the left field pavilion plaza.
Singer, songwriter and Disney Channel star Coco Jones will perform the national anthem.
All auto gates will open at 4:30 p.m. and all stadium gates at 5 p.m. for the 7:10 p.m. game.
