The victim of a fatal shooting during an attempted robbery of a 98 Cents Store on Hollywood Boulevard was identified as 62-year-old Yeprem Khotsuryan, it was announced on April 30.
The Los Angeles County coroner provided the identification.
Broadcast reports described the victim as the owner of the store in the 5000 block of Hollywood Boulevard, just east of Normandie Avenue.
The victim was shot multiple times and died at the scene around 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, Los Angeles police Sgt. David Armas said. He said the motive for the shooting appeared to be robbery.
Armas said the only description for the suspect was that he had been wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
The victim appeared to have been alone in the store at the time, and there was no video surveillance footage of the store interior, Armas said.
