As my family, friends and I watched and read news coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings, we wiped away tears and wondered what we could do.
On Sunday, April 21, 2013 a group of friends from throughout Los Angeles ran a marathon relay through the streets Los Angeles, “in the hope of putting a little light out into the world,” said one of the event organizers, Stephen Saux. “We ran for those who didn’t get to finish. We ran for those who may never run again and to sending our love to the people of Boston and the Boston Marathon,” Saux concluded in his email to me.
While I am a lousy runner, I do want to support any and all aid being sent to Boston and so I type to share the words of Saux and his fellow runners.
Americans — those who run and who don’t alike — will not allow our nation to be terrorized. We will mourn and move on because there is more good out in the world than evil.
