Just before Chritsmas, local members of AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) hand-crafted stockings filled with usable gifts (toiletries, etc.) that were given to veterans at the VA.
AFTRA EEO & WOMEN’S Committee is designed to increase awareness of diversity and provide information to members and the community through programs and events.
This holiday the comnittee wanted to reach out to our men and women who have been of service to our country.
So we decided to make stocking and have a month long drive to collect items for out local Veterans. The Cal Vet – Veterans Home (which houses about 90 men & women) and still growing & The MILITARY Women in Need were our first choice. So AFTRA Members this December had a holiday mixer and decorated and stuffed stocking for our Veterans. What a wonderful way to say Thank you and give back a little something to those who have given so much to us and our country . . .The gift of freedom.
