crossing over the 405 should be done by late 2012, according to Metro officials.
Church Lane will be closed again starting at the end of April and lasting for three months.
The 405 at Mulholland will be closed for 56 hours one weekend this coming summer. The exact date hasn’t been picked yet.
The entire 405 project will cost $1.034 billion.
The non-operating stop light at Darlington and San Vicente (where Coral Tree Café is) remains in limbo. There aren’t enough funds yet nailed down to turn the lights on. Some say this is just as well, as there are many issues that need to get pinned down if there are no left-turn lanes at this intersection.
The lower part of Mandeville Canyon Road should be paved some time this fiscal year, according to Joaquin Macias, aide to City Councilman Bill Rosendahl.
The Brentwood Run will take place May 29, according to organizer Walt Walston. Proceeds from the event will go toward the recently created Coral Tree endowment fund. The race turns 35 years old this year.
Six different traffic plans are being reviewed as part of the Munger Project, “Green Hollow Square.†The goal is to get cars in and out of the proposed retail project with as little impact on local traffic as possible.
One idea that might help would be to create a left turn from San Vicente as one is heading east, but this could require the cutting down of up to six coral trees.
Without the left turn, drivers on San Vicente driving east would have to drive up to the Montana Avenue light and then do a U-turn, which most agree would create a big back-up at that intersection.
