Marcus Mitchell was a postal employee for about 45 years prior to his recent retirement at the end of 2009. He had served our Brentwood Hills community for approximately 15 years.
If you were fortunate enough to be at home when he came by, he always helped make your day with a big smile and greeting. Many who had the opportunity to talk with him, miss him dearly. He has always been a gentleman, and I would be happy to have him as my neighbor in our community.
To acknowledge his service to us, the board of directors of the Brentwood Hills Homeowners Association (BHHA) presented him with a plaque at the Brentwood post office on Barrington during their Christmas celebration acknowledging his dedication. All of the postal employees were pleased to see that his hard work was appreciated.
A few months later Marcus came by with his lovely wife and daughter to visit many of the friends he made over the years. It was nice meeting his family. We wish them all the very best.
