BRENTWOOD CRIME UPDATE FOR LAST MONTH
The first six months of the year Brentwood Crime is down 9%.

Burglary/Theft from Motor Vehicle is still our number one problem in Brentwood. Please lock and set your alarm on your vehicle. And never leave anything inside your vehicle anywhere in Brentwood.

The below listed crimes, are grouped by type, street and listed by hundred blocks, not by exact addresses.

Robbery (definition: Someone takes your property from you by force or fear)
LOCATION: 200 26th St. Suspect took victims cell phone by force

Prevention: be aware of your surroundings don’t carry large sums of money, and never display your money or jewelry in public.

Burglary (definition: Someone enters a dwelling and removes your property without your permission)
5 Residences were broken into. 2 had their window or doors smashed or pried, and 3 had left their doors and windows open. Items taken were Jewelry, cash, tools, safe, gun, and laptop.

1 were construction site.

LOCATIONS: 100 Guston Dr. 1000 Amherst Ave., 4000 Mandeville Canyon Road, 2400 Pesquera Dr. and 11600 Mayfield Ave..

Prevention: Always lock your home or business and set your alarm.

Grand Theft Auto (definition: Someone takes your vehicle without your permission)
2 vehicle were taken.

100 N. Cliffwood Ave, and 200 S. Barrington Ave.

Prevention: Lock your vehicle, and set your alarm

Burglary/Theft from Motor Vehicles (definition: Someone enters your vehicle without permission)

20 vehicles were broken into last month. 1 cut top, 9 were unlocked, and 10 had their windows smashed. Property taken from the vehicles were Cash, IPOD’s, Laptops, Stereo, GPS, wallet, cell phones, purse, checks, credit cards, bag, computer, clothing, electronic, baton, and handcuffs..

LOCATIONS: 100 N. Cliffwood Ave, 200 S. Saltair Ave, 900 S. Carmelina Ave, 1100 Amherst Ave, 1100 S. Bundy Dr, 1100 McClellian Ave, 1500 Capri Dr, 11600 Wilshire Blvd, 11600 San Vicente Blvd, 11800 Gorham Ave, 11900 Darlington Ave, 11900 Mayfield Ave, 11900 Kiowa Ave, 12000 Wilshire Blvd, and 12300 Gorham Ave.,

Prevention: Do not leave anything inside your vehicle, always lock and set your vehicles alarm

Battery / Aggravated Assault (definition: Someone strikes you)
4 Crimes involving victims being grabbed, punched, pushed, and struck by a vehicle.

LOCATIONS: 1100 Granville Ave, 12000 Sunset Blvd, 12000 San Vicente Blvd, and 12200 Wilshire Blvd.

Prevention: Avoid verbal confrontations, they lead to physical confrontations

Theft (definition: Someone takes your property without your permission)
8 Crimes occurred where Food, Glasses, Cash, Tools, Jewelry, Bicycle, Bench, Box, Credit Cards, and Gardening Supples were taken

LOCATIONS: 200 S. Westgate Ave., 700 S. Barrington Ave, 11600 San Vicente Blvd, 11600 Elkins RD, 11700 San Vicente Blvd, 11800 Dorothy Ave, 11900 San Vicente Blvd, 12000 Wilshire Blvd, and 12200 San Vicente Blvd .

2 were construction sites.

Prevention: Secure all unattended property.

You cannot rely on the police department to combat crime, you have to protect and secure your property. Be a good neighbor, keep your eyes and ears open. Call 911 or 877- ASK-LAPD…
