A fireworks show set to Elvis Presley’s greatest hits is scheduled to follow tonight’s Los Angeles Dodgers-Pittsburgh Pirates game at Dodger Stadium.
Fans will be invited onto the field to watch the show, which will take place before 11 p.m. and is subject to cancellation if the game lasts too long.
Presley shot a scene from the movie “Spinout” in the Dodger Stadium parking lot 50 years ago.
A special loaded hot dog will be available throughout the three-game series. The Pittsburgh “Primanti” Dog is an all-beef hot dog topped with french fries, provolone cheese, coleslaw and tomatoes. It will be available at the Extreme Loaded Dog concession locations on the field, loge and reserve levels.
The game is Kings Night. Former Kings Daryl Evans and Derek Armstrong will sign autographs in the right-field plaza from 5:10-6:30 p.m. and will be joined by the Ice Crew and Bailey, the team’s mascot and will be on the field for pregame ceremonies.
Kings players Kyle Clifford, Trevor Lewis, Brayden McNabb and Tyler Toffoli will throw the ceremonial first pitch. The entire Kings group will officially start the game by announcing “It’s time for Dodger baseball.”
A ticket package including a scarf with the Dodger and Kings logos is available at dodgers.com/kings.
The Military Hero of the Game will be U.S. Army Maj. James D. Key, the brigade chaplain for the 10th Mountain Division Sustainment Brigade, based at Fort Drum, New York.
Key is the author of “Touch and Go: From The Streets of South Los Angeles to the War in Iraq.” He has been awarded the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service, Army Commendation and Global War on Terrorism Service medals.
DJ Adam will provide musical entertainment in the right-field plaza and the Hair Feathers band will play in the left-field plaza from 5-7 p.m.
Auto gates will open at 4:40 p.m. and stadium gates at 5:10 p.m. The Dodgers will take batting practice from 4:20-5:20 p.m. and the Pirates from 5:25-6:20 p.m.
Pregame ceremonies, including the national anthem and ceremonial first pitch, will begin at 6:57 p.m., with the game set to start at 7:10 p.m.
