Peyton Manning will be honored in a parade today on Disneyland’s Main Street U.S.A., one day after quarterbacking the Denver Broncos to a victory in Super Bowl 50.
The time of the parade has not been determined, according to a Disneyland official.
The parade continues a tradition begun in 1987 with then-New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms after he was selected as the MVP of Super Bowl XXI, which was played at the Rose Bowl.
The 39-year-old Manning completed 13 of 23 passes for 141 yards in the Denver Broncos’ 24-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara to become the oldest starting quarterback to win a Super Bowl.
The previous record was held by Broncos general manager John Elway, who was 38 when the team won Super Bowl XXXIII to complete the 1998 season.
Manning became the first quarterback to start and win Super Bowls for two teams. He also was the winning quarterback in Super Bowl XLI in 2007 when he played for the Indianapolis Colts.
With the victory, Manning became the first NFL quarterback with 200 career wins — 186 in the regular season and 14 in the postseason. He had been tied with Brett Favre with 199 for the most victories by an NFL quarterback.
