One of Los Angeles’s best burgers will soon arrive on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica. The Sawtelle hamburger darling Plan Check Kitchen + Bar will wipe the Westside off as its latest coup in the L.A. gastropub scene, adding to their growth-spurt list of Sawtelle Blvd., Fairfax Ave., downtown, and recent Old Town Pasadena.
“When we go to Santa Monica I want to do a little more of a seafood-forward deal,” Plan Check founder Terry Heller told Nation’s Restaurant News. Heller explained that each Plan Cehck has tried to tailor the menu according to the locale. This would also translate into more Santa Monica Farmer’s Market incorporated into the dishes.
With the lease signed all ready, the new Santa Monica location is next door to Robata Bar and Sushi Roku.
