PBS SoCal to open office in Century City by end of December

With the mission to heighten fundraising, spread education, expand community outreach efforts, and enhance content creation, PBS SoCaL is set to debut a new office in Century City to provide such services to the Los Angeles region.

PBS SoCaL will be taking occupancy at 10100 Santa Monica Blvd. by the end of this month to function both as a Westside center for PBS events as well as a home to the L.A.-focused PBS SoCaL development team.

The Century City location will mirror the entirety of the television network’s dedication to education, entertainment, and enlightenment.

The new office will be housing PBS SoCaL’s activities, which will highlight arts and culture, civic engagement, content partnerships, and early learning for children.

Through PBS SoCal Education, an example of one of the television network’s community outreach initiative, PBS has taken active involvement through its other Southern California locations by providing nearby schools with access to new media materials.

“Our presence in this community is key to PBS SoCaL’s roles as Southern California’s largest stage for the arts, its largest classroom and a window to the world,” said PBS SoCaL President and CEO Mel Rogers. “We will continue to grow our iconic programming and outreach that educates, entertains, and enlightens the region.”

PBS SoCaL’s new executive vice president for development, Daniel M. Graham, will be leading the development team as PBS SoCaL works with its content partners and its surrounding communities. With years of both educational and non-profit experience at UCLA, Johns Hopkins, and Yale, Graham’s work as a student, professor, and a non-profit employee has prepared him to spearhead PBS SoCaL’s future endeavors in Century City.

With Graham leading the way, PBS SoCaL’s leaders expressed their enthusiasm toward the new office opening.

“We are excited to begin using this office as a place to meet with important community and business leaders,” PBS SoCaL general manager and COO Andy Russell said.
The new office will facilitate discussion regarding PBS SoCaL’s “ongoing growth as the primary PBS station for Los Angeles.”

Russell hopes that such partnerships with local authority figures and leaders will “enhance [PBS’] collective impact in this community.”

PBS SoCaL Century City will be the network’s third location in Southern California, with its other office locations in downtown Los Angeles and in Orange County.

PBS SoCaL currently has three broadcast channels – KOCE-TV HD, PBS SoCaL Plus, and PBS SoCaL World – that air award-winning programs like “Frontline,” “Masterpiece,” “Nature,” and “Nova,” which all spotlight important areas of interest such as news documentaries and scientific exploration.
