The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today to its lowest amount since Aug. 1, 2009, decreasing 1.2 cents to $2.897.
The average price has decreased 75 consecutive days, dropping 81.8 cents during the streak, including 1.8 cents on Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The streak is the longest since a 91-day run of falling prices from Sept. 17-Dec. 16, 2008.
The average price is 12 cents less than one week ago, 30.6 cents lower than one month ago and 74.9 cents below what it was one year ago.
The Orange County average price dropped today to its lowest amount since July 30, 2009, decreasing 1.2 cents to $2.861.
The Orange County average price has decreased 42 of the past 43 days and is 11.9 cents less than one week ago, 29.9 cents lower than one month ago and 76.2 cents below what it was one year ago.
