BET Awards 2014: Jay-Z, Beyonce, and Drake Among Top Nominees

 

Superstars Jay-Z and Beyonce each have five nominations for the BET awards.
Superstars Jay-Z and Beyonce each have five nominations for the BET awards on Sunday.

Jay Z, Beyonce and Drake each have five nominations heading into Sunday’s presentation of the 2014 BET Awards at the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live.

Drake and Jay Z are both nominated for best male hip-hop artist, along with Future, J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. Beyonce, meanwhile, is nominated for best female R&B/pop artist, as are Janelle Monae, JheneAiko, K. Michelle, Rihanna and Tamar Braxton.

Beyonce is a double nominee for video of the year category. She is nominated for her video for “Partition” and for her collaboration with Jay Z on “Drunk in Love.” Drake is nominated in the category for “Worst Behavior,” along with Chris Brown for “Fine China” and Pharrell Williams for “Happy.”

Chris Rock will host the awards ceremony, which will feature performances and appearances from T.I., Pharrell Williams, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Lil’ Wayne, Robin Thicke, Trey Songz, Kevin Hart, Kerry Washington, Nicki Minaj, John Legend, Larenz Tate, Bow Wow, Gabrielle Union and Regina Hall.
