Fresh off his well-received work leading this year’s Emmy Awards, late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel is planning for an even more prestigious gig Monday — hosting the Oscars.
“Yes, I am hosting the Oscars,” Kimmel wrote on his Twitter page, confirming media reports that began circulating early Monday morning. “This is not a prank. And if it is, my revenge on (the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences) will be terrible & sweet.”
The Oscar ceremony will be held Feb. 26 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
Kimmel hosted the Emmy Awards in September, and also led that ceremony in 2012. The host of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” has also previously hosted the ESPY Awards and the American Music Awards.
