A suspected intruder was shot in the head and a security guard stabbed in the face Friday at a Malibu home believed to be owned by supermodel Miranda Kerr.
Authorities were still sorting out details of the violent exchange, but Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Richie Licon said paramedics were sent at 11:13 a.m. to the area of Encinal Canyon Road and Puesta Del Sol and airlifted the shooting victim to a trauma center and took the stabbing victim to a hospital.
Witnesses told reporters at the scene that a shirtless man apparently jumped over a wall of the private compound and was confronted by a security guard. When the man refused to leave, a struggle ensued.
The intruder, who was possibly homeless and carrying a knife, wound up being shot, while the security guard was stabbed in the face or eye, witnesses said. The guard was believed to have been conscious and talking to investigators at the scene when they arrived.
TMZ and the Daily Mail reported that the property is owned by former Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr, who was not home at the time. According to the Daily Mail, the Australian model purchased the property in 2014 following her split from ex-husband Orlando Bloom and lived there with her 5- year-old son Flynn.
Kerr, 33, is engaged to Snapchat co-founder Evan Spiegel.
