The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped seven-tenths of a cent today to $2.838, the fifth consecutive decrease following an eight-day streak of increases.
The average price has dropped 2 cents over the past five days, including two-tenths of a cent on Monday, after rising 7.4 cents during the eight-day streak of increases, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 1.3 cents less than one week ago, 6.8 cents more than one month ago and 19.8 cents lower than one year ago.
The Orange County average price dropped a half-cent today to $2.819, the fifth consecutive decrease following an eight-day streak of increases.
