The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today for the sixth consecutive day, increasing eight-tenths of a cent to $2.851.
The average price has risen 6.7 cents over the past six days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 6.6 cents more than one week ago and 12.3 cents higher than one month ago but 20.8 cents less than one year ago,
The Orange County average price also rose for the sixth consecutive day today, increasing eight-tenths of a cent to $2.832. It has risen 7.5 cents over the past six days, including six-tenths of a cent on Monday
The Orange County average price is 7.3 cents more than one week ago and 12.1 cents higher than one month ago but 16.2 cents less than one year ago.
The rising pump prices follow an increase in wholesale prices stemming from technical issues at at least one Los Angeles County refinery, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
