A $15,000 reward was offered today for information that helps solve more than a dozen armed robberies of cell phone stores in July and August, many of them in the South Los Angeles area.
“The suspects walked into cellular phone businesses, approached the employees (while) pointing a handgun and demanded money,” according to a police statement. “At times, the suspects demanded cellular phones and used a Taser during the robberies.”
Police released security video of one crime, which was committed by two men described as black, 40-50 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, and weighing 170-180 pounds.
The reward was offered for information leading to the suspects’ identification, arrest and conviction.
Anyone with information about the crimes was urged to call Detectives Freddy Arroyo or Daniel Jaramillo at (213) 486-6840, or (877) LAPD-247.
