Kelly Bishop Appointed New Campus Director of Brentwood’s Halstrom Academy

Halstrom Academy announced it has appointed Kelly Bishop director of its Brentwood campus which opened in Fall 2013. Established in 1985, Halstrom Academy has 15 campuses located throughout California.

In his new role as Brentwood Campus Director, Bishop will be responsible for creating a supportive and healthy academic culture, and maintaining relationships with students and parents while managing the day-to-day activities and outcomes of the school.

“In today’s complex learning environment, families are looking for the right fit,” said Bishop. “I chose to be a part of Halstrom Academy because it offers students and families flexibility in their education. From teaching methods to pace to class scheduling, the learning environment at Halstrom is customizable to meet the needs and goals of each student. I am excited to see our students thrive in an environment where they have both the necessary structure and the true freedom to learn as they learn best. As Brentwood’s Campus Director, my goal each day is to nurture this unique environment for our diverse student body.”

With more than 15 years experience in education administration, Bishop has expertise in building learning cultures that support and meet the needs of each student.

Prior to coming to Halstrom, Bishop was the Senior Director of Admissions for DeVry University’s Long Beach and Anaheim campuses. There he led a team of admissions advisors to help high school and adult learners choose the right major and career path to launch their careers in computers, electronics, business and accounting. Previously he was a director at Kaplan Test Prep for ten years where he led teams of teachers and support staff that helped students from middle school to professionals prepare for entrance exams (SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT) and professional exams (USMLE and NCLEX). Bishop received a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Pepperdine University.
