The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today to its lowest amount since March 10, decreasing 1.1 cents to $2.65.
The average price has dropped 38 consecutive days, decreasing 32.8 cents, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The declines began immediately after the average price rose to its highest amount since Jan. 14.
The average price is 6.1 cents less than one week ago, 28.5 cents lower than one month ago and $1.141 below what it was one year ago.
The Orange County average price also dropped to its lowest amount since March 10 today, decreasing 1.2 cents to $2.62.
The Orange County average price has dropped 37 consecutive days, decreasing 34.4 cents. It is 6.8 cents less than one week ago, 30.4 cents lower than one month ago and $1.14 below what it was one year ago.
“There still appears to be some room for further price decreases since Los Angeles wholesale fuel prices have dropped by about 55 cents from their highest point in late June, but retail prices have dropped by only about 30 cents so far,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
“If supply levels remain healthy, gas prices should continue their downward trend.”
