Delta Air Lines passengers at Los Angeles International Airport and other airports around the country today continued to deal with travel delays caused by a power outage that knocked out the airline’s computer system. According to the airline, a power outage in Atlanta knocked out its computer system Monday morning, leading to the ground stop of all flights that had not yet departed. That ground stop was lifted around 5:40 a.m., but Delta wound up canceling about 1,000 flights Monday, and canceled another 700 today, the airline said on its website.
LAX’s website showed a handful of Delta cancellations this evening, with many Delta flights also listed as delayed.
Delta advised passengers to check the status of their flights on Delta.com or on the Fly Delta App.
Also a “travel waiver” system was in effect to help people who need to reschedule. Information on the waivers or refunds is available at http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/traveling-with-us/advisories/system- outage.html.
