Dodgers Expect Large Crowds For Tonight’s Game, Plan Accordingly

The Los Angeles Dodgers are expecting a large crowd for tonight’s interleague game against the Boston Red Sox and are urging fans to plan accordingly and consider taking alternate modes of transportation to Dodger Stadium.

Transportation alternatives include taking a Metro Rail or Metrolink train to Union Station and the Dodger Stadium Express from Union Station to Dodger Stadium. More transportation alternatives can be found at dodgers.com/transportation.

A special loaded hot dog will be available throughout the three-game series. The Boston Baked Bean Dog is a quarter-pound all-beef hot dog topped with baked beans, crispy bacon pieces and yellow mustard. It will be available at the Extreme Loaded Dog concession locations on the field, loge and reserve levels.

A fireworks show celebrating “the sounds of summer” will immediately follow the game. Fans will be invited onto the field to watch the show, which will take place before 11 p.m. and is subject to cancellation if the game lasts too long.

Retiring Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz will be honored in a pregame ceremony.

The pregame ceremonies will also include the playing of an Alzheimer’s disease-awareness public service announcement and ceremonial first pitch.

The Alzheimer’s Association, billed as the world’s leading voluntary health organization for Alzheimer’s disease care, support and research, will have a booth in Section 101 on the loge level to register participants for its 11 Walks to End Alzheimer’s in Los Angeles and Orange counties from September through November.

The Military Hero of the Game will be former U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Cesar Castaneda of Los Angeles. Castaneda participated in three combat tours in Iraq from 2002-2006, including Operation Phantom Fury, also known as the second Battle of Fallujah.

DJ Adam will provide musical entertainment in the right-field plaza and a stilt walker will be in the left-field plaza from 5-7 p.m.

Nick Fradiani, the 2015 “American Idol” winner, will sing the national anthem, one day after the release of his debut album, “Hurricane.”

Auto gates will open at 4:40 p.m. and stadium gates at 5:10 p.m. The Dodgers will take batting practice from 4:20-5:20 p.m. and the Red Sox from 5:25-6:20 p.m. Pregame ceremonies, including the national anthem and ceremonial first pitch, will begin at 6:57 p.m., with the game set to start at 7:10 p.m.
