A 62-year-old man was hospitalized this morning after he was knocked unconscious by another man during an altercation at a busy Hollywood intersection, police said.
Police reported initially receiving calls about the victim “demonstrating irrational behavior” and disrupting traffic by banging on vehicles in the middle of the intersection at Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue.
Shortly before 1:30 a.m., two men traveling in a black BMW X5 stopped to confront the victim and at least one of them struck him in the head, said Los Angeles police Sgt. Mike Ornelas.
The victim was taken to an area hospital, where his condition was not immediately reported, Ornelas said. The assailants fled and remain at large.
