Authorities asked for public help today to identify two gunmen who staged a takeover robbery of a OneWest Bank branch in Brentwood and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspects entered the bank at 12401 Wilshire Blvd., near Centinela Avenue and the border with Santa Monica, at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, the FBI said.
One approached a teller and demanded money at gunpoint while the other jumped over the counter and opened a cash drawer, the FBI reported.
“After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subjects fled the area of the bank,” according to an FBI statement.
Both suspects were black.
One appeared to be in his 20s, 5 feet 1 inch to 5 feet 3 inches tall, with a thin build and wearing a white long-sleeve shirt, a light-colored tie, dark-colored pants, a black baseball cap and glasses. Witnesses said he had a soft voice.
The other was described as in his 30s, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a medium build and a shaven face. He wore a black long- sleeved shirt, dark-colored pants and a black visor.
Anyone with information that could help investigators identify the suspects was urged to call the FBI at (310) 477-6565 or the Los Angeles Police Department at (877) LAPD-24-7. Anonymous tips can be provided through Crime Stoppers by calling (800) 222-TIPS.
