The Century City Farmers’ Market re-opening was a smashing success this past Thursday, as throngs of people lined the Hines property plaza after months of an anticipated homecoming.
The farmers’ market has resumed at 10100 Santa Monica Blvd. during the usual business hours, each Thursday between 10am and 2pm.
Century City was left without a farmers’ market for much of winter after it was forced to relocate from its weekly location at 1800 Avenue of the Stars. In response, the market set up an online petition in August asking the public to help support the market in finding a new home. The appeal spurred impassioned pleas from professionals and residents who had relied on the weekday farmers’ market to get local and seasonal foods.
Thanks to the Hines property and its manager Michelle Olenick, the farmers’ market organization and operators, and some vocal support from the area’s Councilmember Paul Koretz, the Century City Farmers’ Market returned to the surrounding Plaza grounds at 10100 Santa Monica Blvd., just a stone’s throw from the former spot.
