High pressure brought three more temperature records to Los Angeles County Wednesday and tied two others with several more records possible for Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
The 85-degree high at Los Angeles International Airport broke the previous record for this date of 83 set in 1988. The 88-degree high at UCLA broke the previous record of 86 set in 1988.
The 90-degree high at Woodland Hills broke the old record of 86 set in 1991.
Records were tied in downtown Los Angeles, where the 88-degree high matched the record set in 1988, and in Burbank, where the 87-degree high matched the record set in 1971.
Today’s other highs included 91 in San Gabriel; 90 in Pasadena; 89 in Chatsworth; 88 in Hawthorne; 87 in Culver City, Torrance and Van Nuys; 86 in Pomona, Redondo Beach and at the Santa Monica Airport; and 85 in Long Beach.
A couple more degrees of cooling are likely tomorrow, but many inland areas probably won’t see much change at all, according to the National Weather Service.
Thursday’s forecast highs include 89 in Pasadena and Woodland Hills; 88 in San Gabriel; 87 in Burbank; 86 in downtown Los Angeles; and 82 in Long Beach and at Los Angeles International Airport.
