A 40-year-old motorcyclist was killed early today when his bike crashed into the concrete median wall on the San Diego (405) Freeway near Westwood Village. The crash on the southbound freeway, near Wilshire Boulevard, was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 12:30 a.m., according to a CHP statement.
The motorcyclist, a resident of Costa Mesa, was riding his 1995 Suzuki Intruder 800 southbound to Wilshire Boulevard eastbound when he struck the concrete median wall and was ejected from the bike, landing on a dirt embankment approximately 15 feet below.
The rider was located by CHP officers and pronounced dead at the scene.
