Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Wilshire Division Tuesday released video footage of suspects responsible for the early morning burglary of a business.
On March 6 about 4:30 a.m., at least seven suspects broke into the business in the 5100 block of Venice Boulevard. They used pry tools on the front door and, once inside, rummaged through several rooms before pushing a safe outside onto the sidewalk in front of the business, according to LAPD Offier Drake Madison.
A police patrol unit passed by the business while the burglary was in progress, and officers saw an SUV leaving from a side street and backed up to investigate. The car was gone by then, but the suspects left the safe behind on the sidewalk after being unable to open it.
In the video, the white, newer-model Mercedes Benz GLK is seen stopping in front of the business.
The same suspects were also captured in video surveillance from a previous night, which shows them breaking into the building, presumably to case it, but they left empty-handed that time, as well, Madison said.
