Police have arrested five men in connection with the armed robbery of a Verizon store in Manhattan Beach, and were seeking other possible accomplices today.
The crime occurred about 9 p.m. Tuesday at 1751 Artesia Blvd., according to Manhattan Beach police spokeswoman Stephanie Martin.
Three suspects entered the business, and one of them held the manager at gunpoint while others removed items from the safe and from display cases, Martin said. The men then fled.
Officers sent to the scene stopped a vehicle that was leaving the area and arrested two men who were “found to be linked to the robbery,” Martin said.
The investigation led to Culver City, where officers arrested three other men and recovered merchandise stolen from the store, Martin said.
The suspects were identified as Carl Gamboa, 21, of Gardena; Jacob Stephens, 18, of Hawthorne; Rodney Kinney, 21, of Los Angeles; Andre Wicker, 19, of Los Angeles; and Eric Farris, 18, of Inglewood.
Other suspects may be at large, Martin said. The handgun used in the crime has not been found, she said.
