The whereabouts of “Star Trek” actor Leonard Nimoy were unclear today — five days after paramedics responded to a medical call from his home.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Katherine Main said firefighters went to the 800 block of Stone Canyon Road in Bel-Air about 7:30 a.m. Thursday. One patient was hospitalized. She would not confirm that it was Nimoy, but property records show the 83-year-old actor lives at the home, The Los Angeles Times reported.
Nimoy, who gained fame in the role of Spock, announced Jan. 29 on Twitter that, even though he quit smoking 30 years ago, he suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which blocks airflow and makes it hard to breathe. COPD includes two conditions — emphysema and chronic bronchitis.
It was not immediately known if Nimoy returned home since he was picked up by paramedics. A representative with Nimoy’s agent, Bob Gersh, declined to comment about the actor’s health, The Times reported.
