Paulina Rubio and the Spanish-language network Telemundo settled the actress/singer’s lawsuit in which she alleged the company reneged on a verbal agreement to pay the Mexican pop star $1.3 million to be a coach on the second season of “La Voz Kids.”
Rubio’s attorneys filed court papers Tuesday with Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Deirdre Hill stating that the case was resolved. No terms were
divulged.
The “Boys Will be Boys” songstress was one of the coaches during the first season of the Spanish-language version of “The Voice.”
The 43-year-old Rubio alleged in a lawsuit filed Jan. 13 that Telemundo used scheduling concerns as a justification to back out of the contract.
But in their court papers, Telemundo attorneys stated that the network made it clear what it wanted from Rubio.
“It is undisputed that Telemundo repeatedly told Rubio that she must agree to be available to perform as needed during the period of May 12 (2014) through June 7, 2014, but Rubio refused to commit to availability during that period,” Telemundo lawyers stated in their court papers.
Rubio also rejected a proposed written contract from Telemundo, the network’s lawyers state in their court papers.
