The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was recognized by “Saving Innocence” for their work with the non-profit agency to end child sex trafficking in Los Angeles County.
The award was presented at “Saving Innocence’s” 3rd Annual Gala on Saturday, November 15, 2014, held at the Downtown Los Angeles Hotel.
“Saving Innocence” is an organization whose mission is to rescue and restore child victims of sex trafficking through strategic partnerships with local law enforcement, social service providers, and schools.
The organization mobilizes communities to prevent abuse and increase neighborhood safety.
The Sheriff’s Department’s Major Crimes Bureau and Compton Sheriff’s Station partnered with “Saving Innocence” in September, 2014. Accepting the award on behalf of the Sheriff’s Department was Commander Stephen Smith and Captain Merrill Ladenheim from Detective Division, and Lieutenant Carmichael Octave from Compton Station.
