The first-ever Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend at the Disneyland Resort is at full capacity.

A capacity field of 12,100 has registered for today’s inaugural Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon, which will be run through the Disneyland Resort and surrounding areas.

The field is 62 percent female and includes runners from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and 12 foreign countries.

The oldest runner is 77-year-old Sherry Steinberg from Santa Monica. The youngest are 43 14-year-olds, 22 girls and 21 boys. There will be 50 runners celebrating a birthday.

The 13.1-mile race concludes a series of weekend events that also included a 5-kilometer run and kids’ races run Saturday. It is the first “super hero” collaboration conducted by runDisney, which holds at series of races at the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida.

The course is billed by organizers as “the most extraordinary course on Earth” and differs from runDisney’s two other Disneyland Resort races, the Tinker Bell Half Marathon and Disneyland Half Marathon.

The course begins on Disneyland Drive, passes Downtown Disney and goes through Disney California Adventure Park and Disneyland.

Runners will pass the Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove and The Outlets at Orange shopping center in Orange and run through Angel Stadium. The course will pass Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and conclude near the Disneyland Hotel.

Avengers characters will be along the course to support the runners.

The race took 110 minutes to sell out, according to a runDisney official.
