An overnight fire in West Hollywood damaged Kat Von D’s tattoo shop and a next door barber shop today.
The blaze in a strip mall in the 1200 block of North La Brea Avenue was reported about 4 a.m., damaging High Voltage Tattoo and Trendsetters Barber Shop, according to Los Angeles County firefighters.
A burglary alarm went off, but a sheriff’s deputy said it may have been set off by the fire, which burned for more than an hour in the attic. The shop was red-tagged, meaning unsafe to be occupied, and damages were being tallied.
In 2010, the Mexican American artist, born Katherine von Drachenberg, had a home in the Hollywood Hills burn, killing her cat. Von D, 32, is known for her show “L.A. Ink,” which ran for four seasons on TLC Reality Television.
