Three young riders boarded a Metro bus near Sixth and Wall streets in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday, gathered near the rear of the bus and chanted that they had Ebola before getting off the bus and fleeing in different directions.
The riders got on the bus at 3:49 p.m. and exited near 14th street and Central Avenue, according to Paul Gonzales of Metro.
He said the bus driver was interviewed and the bus was put back in service. He said it was determined the yell was a hoax — perhaps inspired by an event Monday when a man wearing a surgeon’s mask told a bus driver not to mess with him because he had Ebola.
