The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 50th consecutive day, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $3.844, its lowest amount since Feb. 21.
The average price has dropped 33.5 cents during the streak, including one-tenth of a cent on both Sunday and Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 2.7 cents less than one week ago and 17.7 cents lower than one month ago but six-tenths of a cent more than one year ago.
The streak of dropping prices is the longest since a 57-day streak from May 17-July 12, 2012.
The Orange County average price dropped today to its lowest amount since Feb. 20, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.814.
The Orange County average price has dropped 48 times in 50 days, decreasing 35.2 cents over that span. It is 2.4 cents less than one week ago and 17.4 cents lower than one month ago but seven-tenths of a cent more than one year ago.
